Yorkshire Three Peaks

Nestled in the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is a demanding yet highly rewarding circular trek. Covering more than 24 miles and over 1,500 metres of ascent, the route is traditionally completed within 12 hours. Starting from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, walkers tackle the three iconic summits of Pen-y-ghent (694m), Whernside (736m), and Ingleborough (723m).

The challenge offers a varied and memorable journey through some of the Dales’ most distinctive landscapes. Pen-y-ghent provides a steep and rocky introduction, Whernside rewards steady climbing with wide views and a long ridge, while Ingleborough’s broad summit plateau feels expansive and remote. Along the way, dry stone walls, limestone pavements, and open moorland give the route its unmistakable character.
